Young Conservatives

The Book

Imagine the political life in this country since 1945 if there had not been a Young Conservative movement in existence. John Holroyd-Doveton seeks to answer this very question.

This masterly attempt seeks to demystify the most powerful political youth movement the country has ever seen. From the author's own recollection of the YCs between 1951 to 1963, interviews with many prominent YCs particularly the National chairmen, and documentary evidence both national and local, the book casts doubt on the media's perception of the YCs in its heyday as a purely social organisation and marriage bureau.
